Bob Keefer has been practicing law in Virginia since 1983. Over the last 26 plus years he has routinely appeared in hundreds, if not thousands, of traffic cases, both reckless driving and DWI/ DUI charges.

Bob has completed the student course in administration of standardized field sobriety tests - the same class the police officer had to pass to become an officer in Virginia.

Bob is one of the few IACP/NHTSA Certified Field Sobriety Instructors in the Virginia, having received the Field Sobriety Instructor distinction in San Antonio, Texas. This is the same certification that the person who taught your police officer should have had.

Bob has also completed the DOT Certified Breath Technician course in the Intoxilyzer 5000 and he has been trained on the EC/IR II, Virginia's new evidentiary breath tester.  In order to properly represent a Virginia DWI client the lawyer has to know the breath test machine.

Bob discovered that in 2005 Virginia law enforcement agencies were labeling the Intoxilyzer 5000s “dated, unstable and unreliable” in internal documents.  Bob recently discovered that the EC/IR II cannot tell the difference between a diabetic and a drunk.  He also learned that the Virginia Department of Forensic Science has covered up that limitation of the EC/IR II.

Bob is a member of the National College for the DUI Defense. Bob regularly attends seminars on the science behind the DWI charge.
